Tunisia has a reasonably structured public school system by North African standards, with Arabic and French as instruction languages. Quality varies significantly by region. International schools in Tunis serve expatriate families.
Why the expat-access rating looks like this
Enrollment is technically open to resident families, but the Arabic-first (with French) instruction model typically pushes international families toward private or international schools.
๐ Homeschooling
Legal with school enrollmentTunisia allows "individual education" with registration at the Ministry of Education. Students must take official exams at a recognized school. No mandatory curriculum at home but must meet exam standards. Growing digital nomad scene in Tunis.

About Sukrah
La Soukra is a coastal suburb in the northern part of Greater Tunis, Tunisia, sitting between the capital and the airport near the Lake of Tunis. Population is about 130,000, and the area has grown rapidly over the last two decades from a peripheral agricultural zone into one of Tunis's more affluent residential districts, with new villa developments, gated compounds, and shopping centers oriented toward the Tunisian upper middle class and diaspora returnees. La Soukra is also home to the Soukra Hippodrome and significant Tunisian Air Force facilities. Climate is hot Mediterranean with dry summers reaching the mid-30s and mild wet winters. Arabic is the official language with French universal in business and education. Foreign relocation to Tunisia broadly remains modest, channeled mostly through Tunis and Sousse for European retirees, diplomats, and a small but growing remote-worker scene.
