About Taoyuan
Taoyuan is a special municipality in northwestern Taiwan immediately south of New Taipei, and functions as both a major satellite city of the Taipei metropolitan area and the country's primary aviation gateway through Taoyuan International Airport. The local economy is anchored by electronics manufacturing, including major Foxconn, AUO and Inotera facilities, plus a large logistics and aerospace cluster around the airport. Taiwanese Mandarin is essential; English is workable in tech and aviation roles. Relocators get the Taoyuan MRT and Taiwan High Speed Rail link into Taipei in roughly 20 minutes, a humid subtropical climate with mild winters and hot summers, and noticeably lower rents than central Taipei. The city is geared toward industrial and family relocation rather than tourism or nightlife.
