Healthcare

System strength, outcome signals, facility coverage, and self-pay visibility in United Arab Emirates.

Method: country metrics come from public system indicators, facility coverage reflects mapped providers we can inventory, direct pricing only reflects observed self-pay pages, and relative care cost can fall back to broad cost-of-living healthcare indices. Sparse pricing does not imply sparse healthcare availability.

About Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates and the largest of its seven emirates by area, set on a T-shaped island off the southern Persian Gulf coast. It holds the bulk of the federation's oil reserves and the sovereign wealth managed by ADIA and Mubadala, which together make it the political and financial counterweight to flashier Dubai 140 kilometers up the coast. For relocators Abu Dhabi offers a more measured environment than Dubai: lower density, the Saadiyat cultural island with the Louvre Abu Dhabi and forthcoming Guggenheim, NYU and Sorbonne campuses, and a large white-collar expat workforce in energy, sovereign investment, and defense. Tradeoffs include extreme summer heat above 45C with high humidity, mandatory employer-sponsored residency, and Arabic as the official language alongside English in daily use.
