About Sanxia
Sanxia is a district of New Taipei City in northern Taiwan, set in the hills southwest of central Taipei at the confluence of three rivers. The roughly 115,000 residents live in a district that combines the historic old street around the Zushi temple with the planned Beida (North Taipei University) area, which has expanded sharply since the university opened in 2000. The local economy mixes textiles, tea (notably Biluochun green tea from the surrounding hills), education, and commuter labor flowing into central Taipei via highway and connecting MRT services from Yongning. Mandarin and Taiwanese Hokkien are both in everyday use; English is more common in the university district. The humid subtropical climate brings hot wet summers, mild winters, and typhoon exposure. For relocators, the practical considerations are commute time to Taipei, housing costs relative to central New Taipei, and Taiwan's gold-card and employer-sponsored visa pathways.
