Why this quality rating

Iran's public system is structured for local families, but it is not an easy public-school choice for relocating expat households.

Why the expat-access rating looks like this

Even where resident enrollment is possible, Persian-medium instruction and day-to-day local integration make the public route usually impractical for foreign families.

🚫 Homeschooling

Homeschooling not permitted

Iran requires compulsory school attendance and does not permit homeschooling. Education is heavily regulated by the Ministry of Education with a mandatory national curriculum. No exemptions for homeschooling on philosophical or lifestyle grounds.

About Khomeynī Shahr

Khomeyni Shahr is a city in Isfahan Province, central Iran, situated about 10 kilometers northwest of central Isfahan and effectively part of its metropolitan area. It is one of Iran's older centers of metalworking and machine-building, with a long-established cluster of small foundries and component shops plus newer factories tied to the broader Isfahan industrial belt. The climate is cold semi-arid with hot dry summers and cold winters at roughly 1,600 meters elevation. For relocation, Khomeyni Shahr is shaped by Iran's sanctions environment and limited foreign-resident infrastructure: Persian as the working language, direct road and bus access to Isfahan, and an industrial labor market tied to the metropolis.
