Why the expat-access rating looks like this

Resident families can enroll in public schools with English-medium instruction. Quality and infrastructure vary by district; private schools are common for expat families wanting higher quality.

About Ho

Ho is the capital of the Volta Region in southeastern Ghana, roughly four hours by road from Accra and close to the Togo border. Population is about 130,000, making it a regional administrative center rather than a commercial hub: the University of Health and Allied Sciences sits here, along with regional government offices, hospitals, and the secondary schools that feed them. Elevation around the surrounding Avatime hills moderates temperatures somewhat compared with the coast, though it remains tropical and humid year-round with a long rainy season from April to October. English is the working language alongside Ewe. Relocators are mostly Ghanaians on government or health-sector postings; foreign arrivals are rare outside NGO and missionary roles, with infrastructure and internet less developed than Accra or Kumasi.
