Why this quality rating
Vietnam's public system is built for local families and is not the route most expat households choose when they have other options.
Why the expat-access rating looks like this
Resident access can exist, but Vietnamese-medium instruction and a strongly local school culture make the public route a hard fit for most foreign families.
❓ Homeschooling
Not explicitly addressedVietnamese law requires school attendance for citizens, but there is no explicit prohibition or framework for homeschooling. Expat families often homeschool without interference. Vietnamese citizens face more scrutiny. No legal framework exists.

About Bình Thạnh
Bình Thạnh is an urban district of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, not a freestanding city, sitting just north and west of central District 1 along the Saigon River. It has become one of the metro's denser residential zones, home to the Landmark 81 tower and a large concentration of mid-range condominiums popular with both Vietnamese white-collar workers and longer-term expatriates. Rents typically run below District 1 or District 2 while still putting most of central Saigon within a 15-minute drive outside peak traffic. Vietnamese is the working language and English is common in newer developments but uneven in older neighborhoods. Practical for remote workers and corporate transferees prioritizing access without District 1 prices.
