About Fengshan
Fengshan is a district of Kaohsiung in southern Taiwan, on the alluvial plain east of Kaohsiung Harbor, rather than an independent city; it was a county seat before the 2010 merger that created Kaohsiung's special-municipality status. The local economy mixes military installations, including the Republic of China Military Academy, residential development, and small manufacturing tied to Kaohsiung's industrial belt. Mandarin and Taiwanese Hokkien are both widely spoken. The climate is tropical monsoon with hot humid summers, mild dry winters, and exposure to late-summer typhoons. Relocation drivers are practical: Kaohsiung Mass Rapid Transit Orange Line stops sit in the district, housing costs are lower than central Kaohsiung neighborhoods, and the high-speed rail station at Zuoying is reachable in under thirty minutes.
