Why this quality rating

Poland’s public schools are stronger than many families expect, with solid PISA results and a credible national system.

Why the expat-access rating looks like this

Foreign resident families can generally enroll, but the everyday classroom experience is in Polish.

📋 Homeschooling

Legal with school enrollment

Homeschooling is legal. Students must be formally enrolled in a school and take annual exams there. The school principal must consent. No specific curriculum required at home but exams follow the national curriculum.

Healthcare

System strength, outcome signals, facility coverage, and self-pay visibility in Poland.

Method: country metrics come from public system indicators, facility coverage reflects mapped providers we can inventory, direct pricing only reflects observed self-pay pages, and relative care cost can fall back to broad cost-of-living healthcare indices. Sparse pricing does not imply sparse healthcare availability.

About Gdynia

Gdynia is a Baltic port city in northern Poland, with about 257,000 residents, forming the northern anchor of the Tricity conurbation with Sopot and Gdańsk. It was purpose-built as Poland's interwar deep-water port after the country regained access to the sea, and remains a major container, ferry and naval port, with the Polish Navy headquartered here. The economy combines shipbuilding and ship services, port logistics, IT (a substantial fintech and software cluster), and the Gdynia Maritime University. The SKM commuter rail line links Gdynia to Gdańsk in about 30 to 40 minutes. The climate is cool oceanic-continental, with mild summers and cold winters moderated by the sea. Polish dominates, English use is high among younger workers, and housing is markedly cheaper than central Warsaw.
