About Pallabi
Pallabi is a densely populated thana (administrative subdivision) in northern Dhaka, Bangladesh, with roughly 598,000 residents covering Mirpur sectors that include the Pallabi area itself and parts of the Mirpur DOHS military housing zone. It functions as a residential and light-industrial belt of the capital, anchored by garment manufacturing, retail, and the National Botanical Garden and Dhaka Zoo to the west. The Mirpur 11 station on Dhaka's MRT Line 6 has substantially improved transit access to central Dhaka since the line opened. The climate is tropical with a hard monsoon June through September and high humidity year-round. Bengali is essential and English is concentrated in business and NGO circles. Relocators should weigh severe Dhaka air pollution (consistently among the world's worst), monsoon flooding, dense traffic, and that most expats base in Gulshan or Banani rather than Mirpur.
