About Al Ain City

Al Ain is the fourth-largest city in the United Arab Emirates, with about 847,000 residents in the eastern Abu Dhabi emirate near the Omani border. It sits inland in an oasis at the foot of Jebel Hafeet, giving it noticeably cooler nighttime temperatures and lower humidity than coastal Abu Dhabi or Dubai. The economy combines government, the UAE University, agriculture in the surrounding oases (one of the country's last meaningful agricultural zones) and proximity to the Omani border crossings. Climate is hot desert with extreme summers and mild winters. Arabic is the official language, English is functionally universal in professional and retail contexts. Relocators get a calmer, lower-density UAE option than Dubai with similar legal and banking infrastructure, weighed against thinner expat amenities.
