Using curated quality notes for now.

Why this quality rating

Senegal has a real public-school system, but quality is uneven and the public path is still a French-medium local-integration choice rather than the obvious default for most expat families.

Why the expat-access rating looks like this

Resident families can in principle use public schools, but French-medium instruction and uneven school quality make the public route situational for relocating households.

About Rufisque

Rufisque is a city in the Dakar Region of Senegal, immediately east of the capital on the Atlantic coast where the Dakar peninsula meets the mainland. About 295,000 people live in a community that was the first French commune of the Four Communes and now functions as an extension of metropolitan Dakar, anchored by the SOCOCIM cement plant (one of West Africa's largest) and growing residential development feeding the capital's labor market. French and Wolof are the working languages. The TER commuter rail line connects Rufisque directly to downtown Dakar in under thirty minutes, and the Diamniadio new city is close by. Rufisque suits Dakar workers wanting coastal residential space and lower rents than the peninsula.
