Why the expat-access rating looks like this

About Temuco
Temuco is the capital of the Araucania Region of Chile, set in the country's southern Central Valley about 670 kilometers south of Santiago. The city of around 238,000 is the principal urban and commercial center of Mapuche cultural heartland, with the highest concentration of indigenous Mapuche population of any city in Chile, and a regional economy built on forestry, agriculture, food processing, and the Universidad de La Frontera. Spanish is universal, with Mapudungun present in cultural and political contexts. The climate is temperate oceanic with high rainfall, cool wet winters, and mild summers, a marked contrast to central Chile. A regional airport and the Ruta 5 highway connect Temuco onward, with daily flights to Santiago. Relocation interest centers on agriculture, forestry, university work, and access to Patagonia.
