About Ajman
Ajman is the smallest of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates, a coastal city of about 490,000 on the Persian Gulf immediately northeast of Sharjah and about 30 kilometers from Dubai. The local economy combines a working dhow port, real estate development serving lower-cost residential demand from the Dubai-Sharjah metro, light manufacturing in the Ajman Free Zone, and a substantial expat population working across emirate borders. The climate is hot desert with extreme summers above 45 Celsius and mild winters tempered by Gulf moisture. Relocators get housing costs materially below Dubai and Sharjah, road connections via Emirates Road, and the broader UAE infrastructure, balanced against significant daily commuting traffic and thinner expat amenities than Dubai. Arabic is official, with English widely used.
