About Ngaoundéré

Ngaoundere is the capital of the Adamawa Region of Cameroon, set on the Adamawa Plateau at roughly 1,100 meters elevation in the country's central highlands. The city of around 238,000 functions as a major rail and road junction. Ngaoundere is the northern terminus of the Camrail line from the port of Douala, making it the staging point for freight onward to Chad and the Central African Republic, and the regional hub for cattle herding by the Fulbe people who dominate the area. French is the working language alongside Fulfulde; Arabic appears in trade. The climate is tropical savanna moderated by altitude, with notably cooler nights than the lowlands and a defined wet season. A regional airport connects to Douala. Relocation interest is regional, NGO, or logistics-driven.
