Why this quality rating
Zambia is more English-friendly than many neighboring systems because English is the main language of formal instruction, but public-school quality still varies materially by district and resources are uneven.
Why the expat-access rating looks like this
Resident foreign families can often use public schools in principle, and English reduces the language barrier. In practice, many expat families in Lusaka still choose private or international schools for consistency.
โ Homeschooling
Not specifically regulatedZambia has compulsory education laws but no specific homeschooling framework. Some families use correspondence courses. ZECHS exams are available for homeschooled students for certification. Growing community in Lusaka.

It is built around the Konkola Copper Mines complex, including the Nchanga open-pit mine, one of the largest in Africa, and the local economy is overwhelmingly tied to copper mining, processing and the associated chemical and engineering supply chain. The T3 highway connects it to Kitwe and Ndola, the regional commercial centre with the nearest international airport. The climate is humid subtropical highland at roughly 1,300 metres, with a warm wet season and cool, dry winters. English is the official language alongside Bemba and other Bantu languages, and housing varies sharply between mine-company estates and informal areas.
