About Staten Island, NY
Staten Island is the southernmost of the five boroughs of New York City in the United States, sitting across the Upper New York Bay from Manhattan and connected to Brooklyn by the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge and to Manhattan by the free Staten Island Ferry. The borough is significantly less dense than the rest of New York City, with a predominantly residential and suburban character, a large Italian-American and growing Asian and Latino population, and an economy built on commuting into Manhattan, healthcare, port logistics and the Bayonne Bridge container terminal.
