About Richmond, BC

Richmond is a city in the Metro Vancouver region of British Columbia, Canada, sitting on Lulu Island in the Fraser River delta immediately south of Vancouver. The city of about 210,000 hosts Vancouver International Airport (YVR), making it a major aviation, logistics, and corporate hub. Richmond has become one of North America's most demographically Chinese cities, with well over half of residents of Asian (predominantly Chinese) descent, and Cantonese and Mandarin signage and businesses everywhere, particularly along No. 3 Road. The climate is mild and damp with cool wet winters and pleasant summers. English is the official working language alongside the widespread practical use of Chinese. Richmond offers direct SkyTrain access into downtown Vancouver in about 25 minutes, airport-adjacency for international roles, and dim sum widely rated among the best outside Hong Kong.
