About Everett, WA
Everett sits on Puget Sound about 40 kilometers north of Seattle in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. The city is dominated by the Boeing Everett Factory, the world's largest building by volume, which assembles the 747, 767, 777, and 787 widebody aircraft and remains the area's largest single employer. Naval Station Everett, a deep-water US Navy base, adds substantial defense employment. The Sounder commuter rail and Amtrak Cascades service link Everett to Seattle and on to Vancouver, BC. Climate is marine west-coast with cool wet winters, dry summers in the low 20s Celsius, and persistent overcast through much of the year. For US relocators Everett offers Puget Sound access with materially lower housing costs than Seattle proper, no state income tax, and direct exposure to aerospace and defense employment. Traffic on Interstate 5 to Seattle is a structural daily cost.
