About Üsküdar
Üsküdar is a populous district of Istanbul, Turkey, not a freestanding city, on the Asian side of the Bosphorus directly across from the European old city. It is one of the more conservative and traditionally residential districts of central Istanbul, with notable Ottoman-era mosques and waterfront views. The Marmaray rail tunnel and a dense ferry network put both sides of the Bosphorus within easy reach, and the new Istanbul metro lines have steadily improved Asian-side connectivity.
