Why this quality rating
Turkey's public schools can work for local families, but expat fit is weaker and the public path is not usually the obvious choice when alternatives exist.
Why the expat-access rating looks like this
Resident enrollment is possible, but Turkish-medium instruction and uneven school quality make the public route hard for most foreign families.
🚫 Homeschooling
Homeschooling not legalTurkey requires compulsory school attendance. Homeschooling is not permitted under current law. Foreign residents are technically subject to the same rules, though enforcement varies for non-citizens.

About Batman
Batman is the capital of Batman Province in southeastern Turkey, sitting on the Batman River near its confluence with the Tigris, in the country's Kurdish-majority southeast. The city grew rapidly through the 20th century around the discovery of oil in the surrounding Raman field and remains the most important Turkish oil-production center, with refining and petrochemicals through TUPRAS and TPAO operations anchoring the local economy alongside agriculture in the surrounding plain. Turkish is essential with Kurdish widely spoken. Relocators should weigh a hot semi-arid climate with very hot summers and cold winters, infrastructure that is Tier 3 with a small commercial airport and rail access on the Toros line, and a security context that has historically been affected by the PKK insurgency in the wider southeast though noticeably calmer in recent years.
