Why this quality rating
Turkey's public schools can work for local families, but expat fit is weaker and the public path is not usually the obvious choice when alternatives exist.
Why the expat-access rating looks like this
Resident enrollment is possible, but Turkish-medium instruction and uneven school quality make the public route hard for most foreign families.
🚫 Homeschooling
Homeschooling not legalTurkey requires compulsory school attendance. Homeschooling is not permitted under current law. Foreign residents are technically subject to the same rules, though enforcement varies for non-citizens.

About Adapazarı
Adapazari is the central district and de facto urban core of Sakarya Province in northwestern Turkey, located about 150 kilometers east of Istanbul on the Anatolian motorway and the Ankara-Istanbul high-speed rail line. The local economy runs on automotive manufacturing, with major Toyota and Otokar plants in the surrounding industrial zones, plus food processing and agriculture on the Sakarya plain. The 1999 Izmit earthquake heavily damaged the city, and rebuilt housing stock dominates the urban fabric. The climate is humid subtropical with rainy winters and hot summers. For relocation, Adapazari offers manufacturing jobs, sub-Istanbul costs, and YHT high-speed rail access to both Istanbul and Ankara within a couple of hours.
