Why this quality rating
Peru's public schools can work for local families, but quality varies and most expat households still prefer private or bilingual options.
Why the expat-access rating looks like this
Resident families can generally access public schools, but Spanish-medium instruction and uneven quality make the public route situational.
โ Homeschooling
Not specifically regulatedPeru requires basic education but does not have specific homeschooling regulations. Some families use distance education or equivalency programs. Enforcement is limited. Growing expat homeschool community in Lima and Cusco.

Getting Around
The concrete mobility picture for Nazca: airport access, urban transit, and rideshare practicality.
Airport
Pisco airport regional backup
MTCโs Ica-region infrastructure update centers air connectivity on the Pisco airport, so Ica should get a regional-airport backup rather than a direct city airport assumption.
Urban transit
Compact core, bus and road links
Family movement is mostly road-led through local buses, taxis, and intercity coaches, but the compact city core supports practical walking for central errands.
Rideshare
Taxi-first, limited app coverage
Taxis and arranged transfers are the dependable layer for winery, Huacachina, Pisco-airport, and Panamericana-side trips.

About Nazca
Nazca is a town of about 24,000 in the Ica Region of southern coastal Peru, internationally known for the nearby Nazca Lines, a UNESCO World Heritage set of large pre-Columbian geoglyphs etched into the desert floor between roughly 500 BCE and 500 CE. The local economy combines tourism oriented around overflights of the lines and surrounding desert archaeology, agriculture in irrigated valleys, and small-scale mining in the broader area. Spanish is essential, with English use limited to tourism operators. The climate is hot desert with very low rainfall and substantial day-night temperature swings. Access from Lima runs about seven hours south by road on the Pan-American Highway. Nazca is primarily a short-stay tourism destination rather than a typical relocation base.
