About Beau Bassin-Rose Hill

Beau Bassin-Rose Hill is the second-largest urban area in Mauritius, sitting on the central plateau of the island about 12 kilometers southwest of Port Louis and immediately adjacent to Quatre Bornes. The roughly 112,000 residents live in a contiguous twin settlement that anchors the Plaines Wilhems commuter belt, the most densely populated and most multiethnic part of the country. The economy is services-and-residential in character, with the bulk of formal employment in Port Louis or in the Ebene Cybercity office cluster a short drive south.
