Why this quality rating

This is based on the current quality snapshot and local-school fit for relocating families.

Why the expat-access rating looks like this

Access depends on residency, language fit, and how realistic the public route is for non-local families.

โ“ Homeschooling

Not specifically regulated

Palestinian territories have compulsory education laws but no specific homeschooling framework. The current conflict situation makes this largely theoretical. UNRWA-supported schools are the main education infrastructure.

Healthcare

System strength, outcome signals, facility coverage, and self-pay visibility in Palestine.

Method: country metrics come from public system indicators, facility coverage reflects mapped providers we can inventory, direct pricing only reflects observed self-pay pages, and relative care cost can fall back to broad cost-of-living healthcare indices. Sparse pricing does not imply sparse healthcare availability.

About Gaza

Gaza is the largest city in the Gaza Strip, the densely populated coastal Palestinian territory bordering Israel and Egypt along the Mediterranean. It is the de facto administrative and commercial center of the Strip but operates under prolonged blockade conditions imposed since 2007, with movement of people and goods tightly restricted by Israeli and Egyptian authorities. The ongoing conflict that escalated in October 2023 has caused catastrophic destruction of housing, healthcare, water, and electrical infrastructure throughout the city. Climate is hot-summer Mediterranean. Practical relocation is not possible under current conditions; the city is a humanitarian emergency zone with population displacement, severely limited food and water access, and ongoing military operations. This entry is included for cost-of-comparison reference rather than as a viable destination.
