About Hamilton

Hamilton is the capital of Bermuda, a British Overseas Territory in the North Atlantic, with about 900 residents in the city proper on the northern shore of the main island in a country of approximately 65,000 people. The local economy is dominated by international financial services, particularly reinsurance with Bermuda as one of the world's principal reinsurance markets, alongside tourism and government. English is the sole official language. The climate is humid subtropical moderated by the surrounding ocean, with mild winters and warm summers and a hurricane risk through the Atlantic season. Bermuda is not in the Caribbean despite frequent confusion and sits much closer to North Carolina than to the islands. Hamilton suits relocators with specific reinsurance, financial services, or hospitality employment willing to manage high costs and restrictive work permits.
