About Sector 6
Sector 6 is one of the six administrative sectors of Bucharest, the capital of Romania, occupying the western portion of the city. It is not a separate city but an inner subdivision, containing significant residential blocks, several universities including the Politehnica University of Bucharest, and major commercial development along Drumul Taberei and the new M5 metro line. The climate is humid continental with cold winters, warm summers, and noticeable summer heat-island effects. Romanian is the working language with English widely used in IT and corporate sectors. Sector 6 is a popular landing zone for tech workers and remote employees thanks to lower rents than the central Sectors 1 and 2, decent metro coverage following the M5 extension, and proximity to the AFI Cotroceni mall and office cluster.
